The FYUGP is a revised undergraduate curriculum introduced under NEP 2020, offering a flexible and multidisciplinary approach. It allows students to complete a bachelor's degree in four years, with an option to earn an Honours or Honours with Research degree depending on their academic performance and course selection.
While the FYUGP is being encouraged under the NEP 2020 guidelines, its implementation depends on individual universities and states. Many institutions, including central and state universities, are gradually adopting the structure.
An Honours degree is awarded after completing four years of undergraduate study with a focus on major subjects. An Honours with Research degree includes a dedicated research project in the final year, which is ideal for students interested in pursuing postgraduate or doctoral studies.
