Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs) Cell
About the Cell
In line with the UGC Guidelines 2024 and National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the SEDGs Cell at Deva Matha College is dedicated to ensuring equitable access to quality higher education for students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The Cell works to make the institution inclusive, equitable, and sensitive to the needs of underrepresented groups.
Objectives
- Ensure constitutional rights, safety, and dignity of students from SEDGs.
- Implement UGC guidelines and Government policies including reservation schemes.
- Provide socio-emotional, academic, and financial support.
- Facilitate bridge courses, earn-while-learn initiatives, and outreach programs.
- Address grievances with empathy and confidentiality.
Key Activities
- Organize orientation and sensitization programs.
- Act as a single-window support for SEDGs students.
- Publicize and assist in availing scholarships and welfare schemes.
- Promote inclusive participation in curricular and co-curricular activities.
- Monitor implementation of programs and maintain a feedback system.
